Meet the Team
Dr. Kate Harbert
Practice Owner and Veterinarian
Dr. Harbert, a native Ohioan, grew up with a love of horses that led her to a lifelong passion for the equestrian community and, in particular, the sport of dressage. After pursuing several working student positions, she found herself at the University of Findlay, where she graduated with degrees in animal science, biology, and chemistry. Dr. Harbert went on to attend Lincoln Memorial University, where she graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Upon graduation, she completed a year long Sports Medicine internship at Grand Prix Equine, a practice servicing New England and Wellington, FL. Dr. Harbert returned to Ohio as an equine veterinarian with Wellington Veterinary Clinic (OH).
In order to fully dedicate herself to equine veterinary practice, she founded Lake Erie Equine. She prides herself on providing gold standard care to all equines. Dr. Harbert is most passionate about lameness and neurology, although she is happy to assist with all aspects of equine medicine.
Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Harbert boating, at the barn with her mare Nellie, or spending time with her family and dogs.
